Join Aubrey Whitfield’s 4 week online Sync Licensing course, designed to help songwriters, composers, and music producers build a successful career creating music for TV, films, video games, movie trailers, and adverts.
This comprehensive program offers live interactive classes and lifetime access to recordings and breaks down the essentials into four focused modules:
1. An introduction to production music
Learn all about library music and how you can build a lucrative career writing for major publishers and record labels across a wide range of genres. Learn how music is placed in major TV shows on the likes of Netflix, and the avenues you can take to get your music in front of the right people
2. Writing for video games and movie trailers
This module is split into two - the first part focusses on writing music for video games either as a freelancer or as an employee of a game company. Learn how to structure your compositions for video games, how to get the contacts, and what you can learn. In the second part you'll learn how you can earn mega money from getting placed in movie trailers whilst learning about the impact of sound design use and building relationships with trailer houses.
3. Writing film scores, TV themes and for adverts
In this 3rd module you will learn the avenues to becoming a composer for film scores and writing theme tunes and music for TV shows. You'll learn all about how to get into this competitive side of the industry, the skills needed, and how to compose at this level. You'll then learn about getting your music placed in TV adverts for major brands, working with key publishers; including a in-depth look at what Music Supervisors look for.
4. Optimising music for maximum placements focusing on how to write, produce and mix music specifically for sync licensing.
Now that you know how Sync Licensing works and avenues to build your career, in this final module we will look at how you should structure songs and compositions to ensure you get maximum places. You might think that a good song will get placed in a TV show, but there are many things that Music Supervisors look for - such as specific endings of songs, and pauses. You will learn all the secrets to ensure you get placed!
